More on Bath Soap

Bath soap has been used throughout history, beginning with ancient civilisations. There have been references to bath soap as early as 2800 BC in Ancient Babylon. Both the ancient Romans and the Ancient Greeks regularly bathed and used a substance which can be described as an early form of bath soap.

By the late 1800s, bath soap was manufactured on a large industrial scale. This is when James Bronnley, after studying the art of perfumery and soap making in Paris, set up the Bronnley company, manufacturing bath and hand soap.

In 1884, James Bronnley took £300 and set up the Bronnley soap business soon earning the reputation of the ‘best soap makers in the world’ Over the years, Bronnley has made many different kinds of soap, including bath soap, hand soap and skin soap but they have all been renound for their suberb quality and sensational fragrances.

Inspired by nature, Bronnley colour their bath soaps with the more natural colours that reflect the fragrance used. For example, Rose Bath Soap is pink which reflects a beautiful bouquet of sweet smelling roses.
