Due to ongoing disruption caused by COVID-19 restrictions delivery times may be delayed by up to two weeks, we thank you for your patience.
It’s the first day of Spring, the birds are chirping and we’ve been doing quite a bit of tweeting ourselves @BronnleyEngland!
We do love Twitter and have found so many inspiring people involved in making, growing, collecting, designing and simply sharing all manner of wonderful things. From vintage enthusiasts to urban gardeners, seamstresses to botanical artists, cake makers and make-up artists – whatever you might think of social media, it certainly is full of friendly, talented people.
So we thought we’d introduce a few of them and, as it’s Mother’s Day next weekend, share a few gift ideas for wonderful Mums inspired by them!
Pretty Accessories
Two Ducks is an online treasure trove of lovingly handmade British gifts beautifully curated by Claire Leigh. You can find her on Twitter @_twoducks
We picked out these pretty floral necklaces, handmade from upcycled biscuit and sweet tins by Kate Hamilton-Hunter @katehhstudio and we love these cheerful linen glasses cases.
Rare Radish is Jo Allen, who describes herself as a treasure hunter. When we asked for ideas for Mother’s Day gifts @RareRadish shared her unique creations with us. These cards and cushions caught our eye immediately!
Vintage style
We found Two Ducks through a wonderfully generous tweeter, @brookeslay. ‘B’ is bursting with vintage inspiration and we adore her delightful sense of vintage style which you can see collated on her brilliant Pinterest boards.
Get inspired by ‘B’ and create a pinterest board for your mum, full of the things she loves to do and see. Perhaps even spend a couple of hours together over a cup of tea and show her how to use Pinterest herself? That’s if she doesn’t know already and could then maybe teach you?!
(Necklace on vintage plate shown above also from Two Ducks)
If your mum loves vintage style then a carefully chosen vintage gift will make her smile. Look for inspiration with Sarah-Jane @vintagefindhour which takes place on Twitter every Wednesday at 8pm and lets everyone share their favourite recent vintage finds.
Mother & Daughter Sewing Bee
This idea came from Julia @bobbinsnbuttons who runs creative sewing workshops for mothers and daughters. Whether you have fairy godmother-like seamstress skills or have never pressed a pedal on a sewing machine, you and your mum can enjoy some time together learning new skills.
Julia is based in the East Midlands, but with the growing popularity of sewing (who doesn’t love The Great British Sewing Bee?!) there’s bound to be someone local to you offering similar workshops.
Fragrance & Flowers
All mums deserve to be spoilt every single day, but Mother’s Day is extra special, of course, and we can’t go without mentioning bouquets.
Heather Gorringe runs The Great British Florist and can be found on Twitter @BritishFlorist. Her beautiful blooms are all sown and grown in the Hereford countryside. We’ve invited Heather to be a guest on our blog, so we hope to bring you some floristry tips from her soon.
And finally a little mention for our favourite new fragrances which come as lovely Eau de Toilette sprays. There are three fresh and light citrus combinations to choose from, Orange & Jasmine, Lemon & Neroli and Lime & Bergamot. All prettily packaged and ready to be opened and enjoyed by someone’s perfect Mum!
Happy Mother’s Day!! x
P.S There’s still time to enter our Mother’s Day competition* to win the whole of our new Lime & Bergamot range from the Citrus Collection (entries close at midnight on Sunday 23rd March 2014)
*Please note that our 2015 competition closes at midnight on Tuesday 10th March

Fresh citrus scents have always been part of the Bronnley’s story and we are all very excited about the launch of our new and improved collection of citrus toiletries. In fact, it is hard to believe that it was all the way back in 1892 that the first lemon soap was created. We’ve been through many changes since then, but our views on the importance of quality and fine fragrance still remain!
ORANGE AND JASMINE
Brighten up your day with our fruity and enthralling fragrance that has bitter sweet top notes of tangy orange and mandarin. The fragrance yields to a floral heart of jasmine and lily, on top of a sweet musky base

Enliven your senses with our fresh and enticing fragrance that has piquant top notes of bright lime, bergamot and grapefruit that surrender to a calming bed of warm amber and sweet woods.

LEMON AND NEROLI
Inspired by the fresh scent of Italian Lemons, the vibrant and uplifting fragrance has top notes of sparkling Sicilian lemon and mandarin that give way to a heart of lemon blossom and neroli resting on a soft base of precious woods.

FRESH SPRITZ
Our new Eau de Toilette fragrances are a super way of adding that final layer of fragrance. There’s nothing like a quick spritz of one of these zesty scents to lift your mood at any time of the day. In fact, they have become a permanant fixture on our desks here at Bronnley HQ!
Our gorgeous new citrus collection is available online in our store with free delivery if you spend over £35 and we’re also delighted to announce that the range is now available from Ocado.
